Eight houses in some of Staten Island’s richest neighborhoods have been burglarized in the last couple of months, and police are investing what may be two separate patterns of professional break-ins.
Homes in Todt Hill, Emerson Hill and Grymes Hills have been hit, according to the Staten Island Advance.
The first pattern of burglaries involves Howard Circle, a gated community in Grymes Hill, with 10 houses surrounded by woods. They have been robbed three times – twice at one house, when burglars came back to crack a safe they couldn’t get the first time. Police believe these thieves are sneaking in through the surrounding woods.
They also may be the ones who stalked houses on Douglas Road and Diana Trail.
The other pattern includes homes in Todt Hill and its border with Dongan Hills.
Aside from the professionalism of the robberies, the main thing these two patterns have in common is that none of the victims had a dog.
