Recent parolee popped for purse-snatching at a bar during darts game

A man who was just paroled two months ago for grand larceny is charged with taking a woman’s purse at an Annadale bar while the victim was keeping score on a darts game, the Staten Island Advance reported.

Police say Anthony Tritto, 27, was caught on the bar’s surveillance video taking the purse at about 11:25 p.m. Wednesday at the Play Sports bar on Sneden Avenue.

The video showed a man in a white cap and a white sports jersey taking the bag. The victim then went outside and saw Tritto sleeping on a bench at the Annadale train station, still wearing the same clothes as in the video.

She woke him up and had him empty his pockets, turning up her keys and cash. Police later also found the victim’s driver’s license, several store gift cards and her state benefits card, authorities told the Advance.

Tritto’s recent grand larceny conviction was the second mark on his record. He also went to state prison for a 2008 criminal possession of stolen property conviction.
