Near brawl at the ferry terminal

Crap! Just missed it!

A near brawl broke out in the St. George ferry terminal Wednesday when a security guard wouldn’t hold the ferry door for passengers who’d been delayed by train problems, the Staten Island Advance reported.

Missing the 2:30 Staten Island ferryboat by mere seconds, dozens of would-be passengers had to be broken up by police as half a dozen of them started yelling at the official who wouldn’t delay the boat.

The crowd had arrived about 12 minutes late because the Staten Island Railway had been running behind schedule.

One man was seen escorted out of the terminal by two officers, the Advance said. He reportedly had gotten got into a confrontation with security officials when he asked the name of the guard.
