A simple, modest Todt Hill cottage - just a pleasant little place for the summer season, you understand.
The ritzy Todt Hill neighborhood reported another high-end burglary Sunday. But this time, police may have caught a suspect, according to the Staten Island Advance.
The home owner, who lives on the 1000 block of Todt Hill Road in Dongan Hills, told the Advance the police had made an arrest. But police, playing it coy, would not confirm this as of Monday night.
A source told the Advance that the suspected intruder was injured during the break-in, and was arrested at Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, where he was being treated.
Todt Hill, Emerson Hill, Grymes Hill and other wealthy neighborhoods in the borough have suffered a string of highly professional break-ins over the past four years, starting with the so-called “Ninja Burglaries” in 2007 and 2008.
A recent target included a vast, columned mansion once owned by the late mob boss Paul Castellano. The burglar in that case fleed as the homeowner, Sal Rusi, fired warning shots.
