As you drive up, a friendly blue sign says “Daily parking $8.00.” If you park before you pass that sign, you’re fine. But the other side is red and says “No standing.” It’s like an old episode of Futurama.
A spokesman for the city’s DOT told the press, “This is similar to the policy at Grand Central which does not permit displays on the main floor of the terminal.”
The biggest incident reported in the Staten Island Advance? Police confiscated a flagpole from one of the protesters at the St. George Ferry Terminal. Pretty quiet, compared to other parts of the country where 300 people got arrested.
Dozens of passengers missed the 2:30 p.m. ferry from St. George by mere seconds Wednesday, after suffering delays on the Staten Island Railway – and the guard wouldn’t hold up the ferry for them. That’s when things turned ugly.
Police said a Brooklyn man with a history of burglary made a series of phone calls that included a bomb warning to a precinct house and threats to damn near everyone.
